Default E-mail Account

Just re-installed Windows Vista to try and solve slow system problems - doesn't appear to have worked.

I previously viewed my e-mail, a Hotmail account, in the format of Windows Mail. Now I can only see it through Windows Live.

I now Windows have changed Hotmail to Windows Live but previously I could view my mail through the Windows Mail format.

Hope I have explained properly. Anyone know how to do this ?

Hi Salinger

open windows Live mail, Press Alt+M together, in the menu that open's select layout, in the bottom of that window you should see the Message Header (Mail) option click on it and Apply.

Hope this is what you mean

Only options I get are to change my Homepage.

I am trying to use Windows Mail basically instead of Windows Live, which previous to my re-installing the O/S I could do. When purchasing the new PC a couple of years ago I remeber having to do somehing in order to use the Windows Mail format instead of Live Mail but can't remember what I did.

Cheers anyway.

that would be Internet Explorer not Windows Live Mail.

Do you use Internet Explorer to log into the windows live site for you mail?

or

Do you use Windows Live Mail Client to open upload your mail to your PC?

anyway

open Internet Explorer, Log into the windows live site, click on the mail tab, top right corner click on options, Click on More options at the bottom, under Customize Your Mail, click on reading Pane settings, the select if you want it Right or Bottom

Hope I got it right this time

This has worked although I would have preferred to go back to using the Windows Mail format. Many thanks for your help.

Don't suppose you know how to permanently get rid of the advertising pane pain that appears to the right of the screen ?

Cheers

LOL that's not possible, but I would suggest you download Windows Live Mail, and install that as I have a feeling that this is where the problem is

Mail - Windows Live
