Default cant save files?

i had reset my internet explorer because it kept freezing, that worked fine stopped the internet freezing.but now when i try to download anything for example realplayer i just cant find them. ido all the right procedures as i have always done put there not there.this is what happens...(1)ask you would you like to run or save file i click save.(2)then asks where would you like to save ive always saved in downloads off the start menu.(3)it then proceeds to download then pings, usually this works fine but not now.when i try to find the file in start menu then then my folder and then downloads there not there to open.this is really iritating as i cant download anything,i used realplayer as my default download manager it was great when ever i was on youtube it always popped in the right corner and gave you the option would you like to download to realplayer it was great.as i said before any file i try to download i just cant find it.and how do you set windows media player up to download like the real player, i hope someone can help maybe ive switched something off.

We are a bit confused here mate as something like Real Player is not a download manager but simply a media player like Windows Media Player.

Are you saying you can't find normal downloads like a program or are you saying you can't find music that you downloaded to add to a playlist?

Hello and Welcome to Free PC Help

Enjoy the forums

Try to do a search for the file you downloaded and then note the location. You can set the folder where you want the downloads to be saved.

If you have auto updates set then you should be on IE8.

Run Windows Updates.

Are you getting a prompt in the toolbar (top of screen ) that is waiting for an acceptance from you?
