The HP Update executable appears to be faulty, have a look here and tick See support and troubleshooting information.

felix go to the hp site wolfeymole linked you to. I just checked it for my hp model and it shows an update for the update software. We need you to check what is suggested to you and post back with the results or we can't help. It's worth a try.

Are you only getting the VisualC++ errors when the hp updtate software is running or are you getting it when other programs are running?

Incompatable software like some games that are written with this could be causing the error. But it could be any program.

i reinstalled Microsoft Visual C++ 2005, and added the express version. But i'm still getting the same error, so it's probably another program problem.

I noticed on other forums that MSxml errors can cause problems with game installations(still my ongoing problem), i noticed on my control panel there errors with mine. So i removed them. Is 4.1 sp built in with vista? can i reinstall the same version?

thx

Right Felix

Enough is enough.

You have made umpteen posts on various issues stemming from one, these are;

Javascript problems in Vista

Game Installation

Blue Screens

ATI Catalyst Issues

and finally

Visual C++ issues

You have been asked many questions on all these issues and have been extremely vague in your replies on all occasions.

Unless you detail EXACTLY what the entire situation is right now in this thread we will have no alternative but to withdraw support with regard to any matter relating to your computer problems.

Let me be quite plain that should you not tell us what we ask then I shall invite you to seek advice elsewhere.

i've been vague because im no expert, i've tried explaining the best way possible.

Apart from help with my laptops virus, (eventually doing a system recovery) this forum ain't exactly overflowing with great advice.

I've been on a painfully slow elimination process to sort this game installation problem out, the only real problem since i've had a computer, so i've asked a few different questions on here that could be related to this issue. I've had next to no advice from Hp or Konami. And scraps of info from the web in general.
