Operating System: Windows 7 PC Experience: Some Experience | I like to partition my hard drive on my laptop because it makes it easier to place my own files and keep system and program files seperate. i did a clean install for windows 7. Completely starting fresh. I still have the partition but all my personal files and system/program files are all on C:/ i would like to tell the computer to remember to save all new personal files that i create to the partition D:/ does anyone know how to tell the computer to sort programs and system files to C:/ and personal files to D:/ ? |

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64b PC Experience: >+_ | OK easy open start, right click on Documents Button, select properties, you should see under library locations, a tick next to C:\users\(Your account)\Documents and underneath that C:\shared documents, or something like that, can't remember exactly as I deleted them ,but under the panel there is three buttons click on include a folder, and it will open a folder browser window, navigate to your documents file on D:\ and select it, then back in the panel for library locations click below the tick next to your new location and this will set the default save location. you can do this for all the buttons on the start menu ![]() by deleting the C:\ references when you click on the menu buttons those locations no longer show in the library locations, as mine are empty whats the point in seeing that there is nothing there ![]()
