Default Changing Dvd drives

Hi I have a spare dvd drive - no disk or manual tho! My current Dvd drive is abit tempramental in that once opened it goes crazy closing and opening at will!! Can i just take one out nd another in??

Is it a sata or IDE drive Lee?

Err not sure, its an lg super multi dvd drive model gsa-4167b if it helps?

Ok it's an IDE drive so when replacing it just make sure the jumper/s, (little black plastic bit/s) on the back are exactly placed the same as the one you remove.

An example where in this instance the jumper is on the Master configuration.
