You need to put your Username and Password in Wizard mate.

Example:

Username: joeblogs@abc.com

Password: Rabbit

Then tick Remember me and Remember my Password.

Well just click the Get more information link, just because his is working doesn't mean to say yours will be, it's a fiddly creature is IM.

Shut it down and try again.

Well mine is working fine and I have just set it going and I'm in the garden on the wireless lappy at that.

give this a whirl copy this to notepad.

REGSVR32 SOFTPUB.DLL /s
REGSVR32 WINTRUST.DLL /s
REGSVR32 INITPKI.DLL /s
REGSVR32 RSAENH.DLL /s
REGSVR32 MSSIP32.DLL /s
REGSVR32 CRYPTDLG.DLL /s
REGSVR32 DSSENH.DLL /s
REGSVR32 GPKCSP.DLL /s
REGSVR32 SLBCSP.DLL /s
REGSVR32 SCCBASE.DLL /s

pause
exit

now save that as messenger.bat
this should change to a bat file if not go to.my documents>tools>folder options>untick !"hide extension for known file types" then resave it...
once done double click the messenger.bat

when you have finished it will say press any key to continue.press any key and it will shut the bat down...
now try and log back into messenger

let me know if that does not work
also check your firewall is not blocking messenger,, if it is unblock it.

With no disrespect Danzil I think we should wait and see if this is a service issue before handing out reg fixes like sweeties.

they are not registry fixes.
that is a small bat file that will re register any poorly dll.s in messenger.
this will have ZERO adverse effects on a pc..because if the dll is register it will just carry on,,, its not unregistering them.

that is what i try when i see this issue and 99% of the time it fixes it.

that is my advice.
the end user can do with it as they please like all my advice.....i am posting what i believe to be the fix NOTHING more.

danzil
no disrepct taken at all.

if you prefer to leave messenger then we can still help you..
try my fix it is very simple ...
i can upload the fix else where if you are not sure how to make it a .bat file...

i cant really see this as helping if we are to just agree with "Uninstall it".
obviously i know that was your choice.

we are still here if you want messenger.
regards
danzil
