pc logs me off mid log in - Computer Support Forums

My brother boots his pc and the log in screen appears. When he types his pass and tries to logg on, it just loads for a bit and then goes back to the log in screen. We have tried starting it in different mode (safe mode and whatnot) but the problem still occures, also we tried different account.

Hello Rezonor. Has your brother activated his copy of Windows? If he was using the trial installation of Windows, then it is bound to happen after the trial period is due? Also, what Operating System is he using? Have you tried logging into any other accounts, if there are any?

Please post the required information as soon as possible.

its xp. yes i have tried other accounts and it is a full and legal copy

he ran some virus scans a few days ago (the ones recomended by this site) and found some viruses. he removed them and the pc worked fine for 2 days. then this happened...

OK do you have your Windows XP disc? If not, then do you have the Recovery Console installed?
