Is the 6-7 MBS number reported by the modem or is it a number you obtained by running a speed test? Can't say for sure but if it is reported by the modem that may just be the connect speed between your modem and the one at your providers end and not the connect speed to the internet. If you do a search for 'speed test' there should be several sites that will give you the actual internet connection speed. This is analagous to the speed between a wireless device and a router where the connect speed can be up to 54 MBS (wireless g) but there isn't any way you'll get that speed from your provider.

Where are you getting the software mamayoda?

Give us the link and we'll see what we can pull it down at.

Can you test your connection speed with the two links below and post back with the results.

Numion - YourSpeed and SiteSpeed

Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test

Also, are you using BT broadband, as your post suggests, and do you use a router or modem?
