Remove the newly installed memory and see if it reboots ok, if it does then you may have the wrong type of memory for that board.

Moved the memory over?

How many RAM slots do you have?

What exactly was the old memory and what was the new memory that you acquired?

Please be exact.

Well I doubt it's the board not holding still for 1GB of RAM so I reckon the stick that you bought recently is faulty.

Did you you put the sticks in slots 1 and 3 or 1 and 2 as 1 and 3 should be the correct method?

Do your slots resemble these in this pic, the colour of yours are irrelevant.

Or do they look like this?

So when you got the original 512 did you remove the 2 x 256 sticks?

Before you got the new 512 did you have the 2 x 256 and the original 512 working ok?

If so swap out the old 512 to the new one and see if that works, note the memory size afterwards.

Can you download a system information tool called Everest from here please and then tell what the boards memory capacity is.

Have you ran a scan from Crucial to determine what memory you have and what you need?

Right you need;

Each memory slot can hold DDR PC2700,DDR PC3200 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.*

*Not to exceed manufacturer supported memory.

Although the memory can be installed one module at a time, the best performance comes from using matched pairs of modules.

This is what you need to look for when getting new ram so for example you could have 4 x 512 @ DDR PC3200 to get 2GB
