Default Windows XP Validation

Hi there, I am looking for some advice please. I have had to rebuild my pc and have re-installed XP. I have 2 genuine Windows XP disks, one with SP1 and one with SP2 but I can't find the original cd wallet the disks came in, therefore I am being prompted that I can't validate my Windows.

Can anybody advise a way round this problem please ?, or am I snookered.

Thanks

The problem I can see is I work in IT and got 2 valid Windows XP disks from my work, but they were for Dell pc's...... it is a Compaq pc I now have at home. I am concerned if I phone Microsoft the disks might be licenced to my work.

I have re-installed Windows XP countless times, but it has always been on a Dell pc, I recently got a Compaq one, so am wondering if thats one of the problems.

I used to have loads of product codes, but I cant find the original wallets, as I have all my cd's in a CD box now

Yes this is indeed a sticky situation is it not?

Moreover it's not only sticky but illegal Daftie as you are jeopardising your firms Volume License agreement with Microsoft.

I'm surmising that this is not the first time that you have gone down this avenue with your companies software and therefore this thread is now closed as we cannot offer any further advice.

Please post on any other computer issues you may have.
