I have an Optiplex GX280 Windows advised of security updates, it installed them, and advised restart needed to complete.

Carried out reboot and got the Blue Screen of Death … with error:

Stop C0000 21a Fatal System Error

Fatal Error … 0xc0000135

I have tried restarting ..using ‘last known working condition’ And also in ‘safe mode’ …. Both fail with same error. How can I recover, is there an easy way to roll back ? I don’t mind re-installing Windows as long as I don’t lose my applications.


It has a full Norton Secuirty Suite installed in case that has a bearing, I have a copy of the XP CD.
