Operating System: Windows XP plus Windows 7 Pro PC Experience: Sounds and music man | Now and again it may be that you need to transfer a file to another machine or even just hold a file elsewhere, the most common device for doing this is the pen or stick drive. However, you may not have one or the one you have is full. There is another way, if you have a digital camera or other device that uses memory cards, and for ease of downloading to the computer you have a card reader, then the problem may be solved. Most card readers will also work in reverse, and allow you to transfer files onto your memory card or cards. Just plug in your reader with an empty card in it, your computer will recognise the device and allocate it, usually as "F" drive. Just transfer your files to the card in the same way as you would to a pen or stick drive. Yes you guessed, I found this out after I bought a pen drive, when I already had four 2GB cards and a reader. ![]()
