A stanley knife blade is just the right size to slide between the rows of pins. Just watch your fingers and dont forget to touch a earthed case before touching a static sensitive device.

I use a blade as well.

There's nothing like straightening those pins to make your eyes go wonky.

There should be a word for that feeling you get when you drop a cpu and watch it falling in slow moition towards a hard surface.

It needs a hint of thud, with that cold feeling of all the blood leaving your head and a mix of 'I dont belive I just droped that 3 gig dual core xeon'.

The smiley sort of gets it.

You could also wear a anti static Armband. I wear one of these whenever i am doing something along the line of this. Brought mine for 14.99 NZD here in New Zealand.
