Operating System: Windows Vista - Home Premium PC Experience: Some Experience | hey ppl for some reason my itunes isnt working properly.every times I try to access it it got this "The iTunes Libary.itl file is locked,on a locked disk.or you do not have the write permission for this file" I dont get why its doing this when it was working fine last night,Im the only user on this computer. I uninstalled itunes and then installed it back and it still does not let me access it. I hope this does not Interfere with any of the your policies.if it does I understand. thank you ![]() |

Operating System: OSX PC Experience: Shredded the teeshirt...... | Hi Jazz, I'd be temped to run a System Restore to yesterday or day before - maybe the quickest and easiest solution. Failing that, have a look here for two different fixes - the second link is the official Apple fix. Operating System: Windows Vista - Home Premium PC Experience: Some Experience | hey thank you for the quick reply i tried the first link and followed the instructions but not matter how many times I uncheck read-only box it still dont let me open it, another thing,i m pretty new to vista,just a quick quesiton,on the folder option when you right click and at the bottom you have read-only and archive and hide,what does a box on the read-only mean.its not a tick but a box?and every time i change it and go bakc to it,there is a box there again and its like I havent tried a thing ![]() the 2nd link requres me to intall a software but it says that its only for windows xp,i dont think its gonna work on vista or would it? I will try that system restore to yesturday when I get home and let you know thank you again for your help |

| Hello Jazz. Did you apply the properties to the folder in which you store your music? Also, since you are using Windows Vista, you might need to take the permissions of the folder by different instructions. How to Take Ownership and Grant Permissions in Windows Vista After you have applied the changes, reboot the computer and try running iTunes again. Does it work now? -- Goku | |
