Operating System: Windows XP - Home Edition PC Experience: Some Experience | When I right click the wireless connection icon and select "view available networks" I am unable to view the network as nothing is displayed. The OS is Win XP. Any suggestions pls? |

Are there any wireless networks in range?Normaly a wireless card will only pick up a wireless router in the area not a WIFI connection. Do you have a wireless router in range? It may sound I am asking silly questions its because we need more information on your network setup and what you are trying to connect to.

Operating System: various PC Experience: Very Experienced | An option on most wireless routers is to turn off broadcast of the SSID (access point name) and some network display software will show nothing, as if there is no signal. Or, the name of the access point will display as UNKNOWN. I assume this is a laptop so take it to a very populated area and see if you can pick up any signals. Outside of a Hospital, apartment building, etc. Al |
