Operating System: Windows Vista - Home Premium PC Experience: Gained experiance through years of breaking pcs and repairing them in software and hardware | Hi everyone, I've got this problem with my new NAS drive. When I open iTunes the shared music appears in on the left hand side but when I click the folder to show my music only a handful of the songs appear. I have the same music on my laptop and they work fine through iTunes. If I disable and then re-enable the iTunes server on my NAS drive then a different group of songs appear and a different amount too. Has anyone got any ideas as im stumped! Many thanks Paul |

Operating System: Windows 7 64bit PC Experience: Good All-Round Experience, Some Graphical, Sound & Programming Experience | Hi paul, so your music files are stored on the NAS drive itself and you've setup iTunes to look at this when playing music in the library? I'm not familiar with iTunes Servers, but maybe you could try creating a new playlist and linking the music again? Also, how is the NAS drive managed? Do you use an internet interface? If so under the "Advanced" tab click "open audio stream" and paste the url address of the NAS drive, maybe this will stream all the music. Although I haven't tested this so don't worry if that doesn't work. Finally it may be an idea to check the sharing permissions are setup correctly. I use iTunes for general use but not for network sharing I'm afraid. BJD

Operating System: Windows Vista - Home Premium PC Experience: Gained experiance through years of breaking pcs and repairing them in software and hardware | My NAS drive runs on Linux and has a built in iTunes server, so on iTunes I just tick the box to search for shared libraries and away you go, in theory! The NAS drive is managed through the internet by typing the ip address in my browser. It used to work then I formatted my laptop and from then its not been working properly so its probably something simple but like yourself I dont normally use iTunes for network sharing so its beyond me really. |

Ive tried authorizing my laptop and it says its already done and there is no password for the shared library. I'll have a look on the apple forums myself to see what i can find. |

Operating System: OSX PC Experience: Shredded the teeshirt...... | I use a NAS box to store music and iTunes can see it, but only when I enabled guest permissions on the NAS. Can you see and access your NAS shared library through Windows Explorer or Network Places? What version of Windows do your laptop and PC run? |
