Right click on the same icon - should now be pc without a cross on it and click repair.

Automatically get new IP settings for the network adaptor “wireless network connection”

Automatically get new IP settings for the network adaptor “Local Area Connection”

i think i know what the problem is when i got on to my connect to network screen my router show up and it connects but it does not say secuirtiy enabled and i have never put a pass pharse in. what should i do? and where do i find:

Wireless Network Name (SSID)
Security Mode or Type (WEP, WPA, WPA2, etc…)
Encryption Type if using WPA or WPA2 (AES, TKIP)
Security Key or PassPhrase

When you try and connect to the router, it should ask for a key - does it do that - and the keys are normally under the router on a sticker

It's so that you can access the router - it will be printed on a label under the router - or whoever set the network may have changed it

Let's slow down and get a few basic facts here wigan bird.

You have the cable from Virgin going into the back of the modem yes?

You have a yellow cable going to the router from the modem yes?

You have a blue cable going from the router to the network socket on the back of the main pc yes?

And the router has an aerial, eg wireless yes?
