Default I have a connection pages wont load????

I am house sitting for some friends so I brought my laptop and I am using their wireless network.
I have a connection (well it says I have a connection) but my firefox will not load? I am using AVG, I disabled the firewall but still no go?

HELP!

Welcome to Free PC Help Devo.

Can you open sites using Internet explorer? If not...

Unplug the router from power for about 10 seconds, then restart the laptop. Now try to connect.

If that doesn't work, right click on the wireless connection and choose Status>Support. What is the IP address?

Seth I am really sorry but I am not at the location right now I am at work!
But this is the first time I have ever taken my laptop out, and at home I have DSL extreme with a static ip address and do not use wireless I am connected by wire. my computer seems to have good signal strength but I am at a loss.
