Operating System: Windows XP - Home Edition PC Experience: PC Illiterate | Zonealarm Hi
my wireless network had a problem and I had to reset everything (Speedtouch 585 v6 and speedtouch wireless). My problem now is that if I start Zonealarm I cannot connect to the internet. I am using windows firewall at the moment but, would prefer Zonealarm. I seem to have all the right IPs and sub net settings as before and the MAIN ethernet computer is working fine.
Can someone point me in the right direction as to what is going on. At one stage I was asked fora WEP key number and or WPA-PSK never been asked that before and don't know what they are.
Kind regards
EV |

Operating System: Server 2003 Enterprise PC Experience: Systems Engineer | Well I don't run ZoneAlarm, but you should be able to reset it or allow it to learn again.
See if there is some type of assistance with ZoneAlarm from these links.
Also, if your network card supports WPA2 then you should use that instead for wireless access. ZoneAlarm User Forum - ZoneAlarm User Forum LossOfInternetAccessIssue Thomson SpeedTouch 585

Operating System: Other - Mac Based PC Experience: Some Experience | The wireless password is set by the router. Log into the router and see what it is. If it's not set, then make sure you're logging into your network and not your neighbor's.
Zone Alarm has some settings that you should check. In the Firewall section, Zones tab: You need to enter your router's IP address. It's probably 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1.
In the Program Control section, make sure your browser is listed with a green check mark.

Operating System: Windows Vista - Ultimate PC Experience: Very Experienced | Hi;
I think what you needed to do was type command or cmd in the run box. This would bring up the Command Prompt where you would type in IPCONFIG /ALL and press Enter.
After the information is displayed you click on the icon on the left of the title bar at the top. Go to Edit and click Select all. Click on the icon again and this time go to Edit and click Copy. You can now paste the contents where you want.
Glad you got your ZoneAlarm/MSUpdate issue resolved. Maybe next time you visit you'll be the one giving help. Thanks for letting us know.

Operating System: Server 2003 Enterprise PC Experience: Systems Engineer | So this link provided was the fix or another Microsoft update? LossOfInternetAccessIssue
Sorry about the IPCONFIG deal, got ahead of myself as I'm so use to using it.
You can either run CMD and hit enter to be in a DOS box or you can type it all in at one time. CMD /K IPCONFIG /ALL
Then after the mark and copy you can just close the box. |

Operating System: Windows Vista - Ultimate PC Experience: Very Experienced | I'll bet you're right Ron. It was most likely the MS update KB951748 that you linked to that was the issue.
As the link you provided said there were two solutions. Uninstall the update or change zonealarms settings to medium.
Thanks to ellan we now know that there is a third solution. It seems zonealarm has a new version which does not conflict.
Thanks ellanvannin54 for pointing this out. Come back soon. You might have other advice to offer us.
