Default xp home & vista home ics problem

hi i have a xp home desktop computer and vista home basic laptop i connect to the internet through vodafone huwaei e220 usb modem. i want to share the internet connection with both computers.

xp home computer connects to internet and connects through wireless network with vista laptop. vista laptop can't connect with internet through wi-fi network.

had a pc guy in and he managed to get them working opposite to what i want with vista laptop connecting to internet and xp connecting through the vista laptop using adhoc network.which lost it's connection after a couple of days don't know why.

laptop has wi-fi built in, xp has belkin wireless g usb network adaptor (model 507051) i think numbers are tiny.

i also have belkin wi-fi modem router from previous network i had setup in the uk (model F5D7633-4) which i would like to use as router only, as i won't be getting broadband for a long time.

please can someone help me?

ICS has always been problematic for me. I'm not familiar with the F5D7633-4, but a web search indicates that this is a DSL modem/wireless router. You should be able to configure it as a standalone router. If so, I suggest doing that.

In addition to allowing more than one computer on your home Internet connection, it provides more security than ICS.
