| ok im a bit of a new when it comes to Linux the only ones ive used is the live cds and the one which you don't have to reboot your pc for any way i have followed an online guide for installing it without rebooting..and im stumped i hve to edit the menu.lst file and i don't know what to do..i have installed the files for Linux in drive D:/ and then all the other files for GRUB 4.1.0 (except one which is in C:/)to C:/boot and i have changed in the menu.lst file all hd0 and hd0,0 to read hd1 or hd1,1 is this right?...by the looks of it its wrong. I have also added start GRUB to the boot menu but when i click on it it ask me to select and operating system to install... i know this may be a dodgy explanation but im rushing :P any help would be greatly appreciated | |

Operating System: OSX, XP, Ubuntu PC Experience: Pc Guru | Hi Wardy, The following link may help in regards to editing the menu.lst file Editing /boot/grub/menu.lst to change the GRUB boot menu boff Also, have a look at Ubuntu's guide to dual booting with Windows XP.
