Wireless Network Access

I have a wired network run from a standard (non-wireless) router/modem with broadband, this is supplied by our service provider and is the one supported by them. I have wall mounted network sockets in the office but could do with some wireless connectivity.
Is there any device that I can plug into a wall socket network point that will give access to our wired network services (other PCs, broadband etc)
I have tried plugging a wireless router (under the advice of PC World) into one of the network points but can only get broadband but not see the other machines on the wired network, on the ones directly using that router.
Please can you help.
Many thanks

I am trying to connect to the internet wirelessly. I have a cisco valet router and DSL modem. The internet works when the ethernet is plugged directly into the computer. The router is connected and the network says its connected on my task bar, but it says there is no internet access. I just moved and this router worked perfectly at my old place. I have Windows 7.

Okies here's the thing and I don't know why my computer these past couple of days has started doing this. Whenever I load up the computer and go on skype or msn or any instant messaging type service the internet works fine yet when ever I go on a browser I just get a white screen for like 10 minutes before a page loads up or it says the server isn't connected. Now I have broadband with modem connection and the longest it's took before to load a page up is 1 minute never 10 minutes. Another thing would be I have to keep refreshing an internet page to get it up or switch the modem on and off to get it up.
Also when I go in network connections I have 3 that come up a 1394 connection, ethernet (which is the one I've got) and a realtek family connection. Any ideas?

Will these: Extra Value 85Mbps Powerline Adapter Twin Pack | Ebuyer.com (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/150039)

Be ok to use in my own home without the encryption that came with them? Will people outside my home be able to hack in or see data on my network? :)

Thanks

Wired connection problem

Forgive my tentative style but this is my first post. I would be grateful for advice on this problem:

My PC is currently connected to the internet via a modem supplied by my IP and works fine. I have tried substituting the modem with a Belkin wireless modem router (connected to my PC with an ethernet cable), but I fail to get a connection. The PC doesn't seem to detect the Belkin and I wonder whether the probelm is with the network adapter although the device manager shows it as working fine and, of course, it is working fine with the original modem.

The problem is not with the router as it sets up no problem when connected to my daughter's laptop with the same ethernet cable. I am completely baffled. Any help would be appreciated!
