<description>I have some older dvds of videos made from TV programs that worked fine in my XP Pro machine.

In this machine which is Vista Premium Home SP 2, 32 bit, windows medial will play the sound but not the video. Similarly powerDVD. They will both play other DVDs of more recent vintage even though they may have been made just as long ago. Is this simply something like a codec or something? Or is it something more serious? Just as a complication powerdvd5 used to play these in XP Pro no problems.
cheers

			<description>Hi all,

My dvd drive has been gone for some time now and I did not really bother with it until
last week when I got a blue screen with a message : problem with the dievce or drviers .can find : and there was a refrence to this driver.: ati2dvag

After craching few times last friday it came up with a new and final message (before I had to take it in to the doc) : C:/ ...could not find c : drive anymore and thus start windows.

I am not sure but this probably refers to my dvd device : it has the yellow mark and not workin.
I tried the registry fix but did not help. (donwloaded from this site).

I really do not knwo what else to do. It is ACer travel mate and have been happy enough with my acers until now.

I am just worried beacuse I got the message again today (blue scree meesage with ati2dvag) thus making me a bit worried....

Hmm. any suggestions ...? A hammer on the head ??

cheers and thanks for any suggestions
