OK, do the following.
- Go to Device Manager and expand the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers category.
- Right-click on each of the listed devices and select the Properties option.
- Switch to the Advanced Settings tab (if present) and see which one says ATAPI CD-ROM or something similar.
- Do this for all other present IDE controllers and uninstall the ones which are related to your CD / DVD drive.
- Reboot the computer.
