Nah I used a disc my m8 gave me that allows you to remove WMP without breaking Vista, then i reainstalled it threw Windows repair, seemed to do it perfectly, altho the problem persisted, so i uninstalled all my codec packs, it wasnt untill i uninstaled AC3 that it started working properly again.
Turns out it was AC3Codec pack causing this, no idea why...but i dl'ed a new version and have installed htat, and it seems to be working fine...Thanks for all you help guys ur the best
