DVD transfer to PC

Hello

I have a dvd camcorder which nicely records straight to the mini 3 inch discs that i can then put straight into my computer and play

However i want to save the dvd footage to my pc so i can either edit it and then place the footage onto You Tube

is there a decent transfer programme that i can use that will be compatible with windows movie maker plus that will not reduce the quality of the dvd footage?
